Sarso Kimono
What are the features of this kimono?
What is the fabric and how is it made?
The Sarso kimono is made from 100% cotton, block-printed by hand in Rajasthan. Each motif is hand-stamped by skilled Indian artisans using hand-carved wooden blocks, a centuries-old craft that gives every piece its own character.
What inspired this pattern?
The Sarso motif draws inspiration from the boteh, one of the oldest and most iconic motifs in Indian textile. These small, rounded floral bouquets, characteristic of Rajasthani textile art, are reimagined by Jamini in a bright, contemporary palette.
How can I style this kimono?
The Sarso kimono works just as well indoors as out. Tie it over pyjamas for a cosy morning at home, or wear it as a lightweight jacket over a simple outfit for a bohemian, colourful touch. Its boteh floral pattern and red and white striped border make it a statement piece that speaks for itself.
How do I take care of this kimono?
Machine washable at 30°C. Air drying is recommended to preserve its colours and the quality of its block print over time.
